MAP Assessment
MAP is a diagnostic tool to help the teacher know what areas in reading and math that the students need help with. Once the teacher knows what gaps each student has, she/ he can plan instruction with this in mind. This is also helpful for the ESL student, however, they might know more than the MAP score shows. One reason is that a single word in a question can be confusing and make them not understand what is being asked. In this case, it is good to go over the necessary vocabulary for their RIT range.
